Baratza has combined the great features of their Maestro and Maestro Plus espresso grinders to create one great new grinder, the New Maestro Plus.  You get the same great performance and flexibility but at a much lower price.


Conical Burrs

The New Maestro Plus retains the same 40 mm conical burrs it has always used.  Conical burr grinders are exceptional at producing consistent grinds from very fine to coarse.

Grind Coffee for Any Brewing Method

There are many coffee grinders on the market.  However, few have the ability to grind fine enough for a professional espresso machine and coarse enough for a press pot.  The upgraded Maestro Plus has 40 steps of adjustment, up from 18 steps.  Choose the perfect setting by turning the bean hopper to the desired position.

Innovative Calibration

Commercial grinders have a calibration system to ensure that the grinder will grind fine enough for espresso and has the range to grind coarse enough for a press pot.  Now this feature is available in a grinder designed for home use.  The grinders are calibrated when they are manufactured to ensure an accurate range of grind.  If necessary the grinders can be user calibrated.

DC Motor

A 240 watt DC motor is replacing the current AC motor.  The DC motor is twice as powerful as the current motor and turns slowly resulting in cool, quiet operation and permits long grinding duty-cycles.  The circuitry is equipped with an automatically resetting, thermal cutoff switch.

Special Gear Reduction

The New Maestro Plus uses a combination of gear and electronic speed reducers to slow the spinning of the burr to 450 RPM.  This slow speed reduces heat, noise, and static generation in the grinder. It also ensures that the beans feed smoothly into the burrs.

Timer Switch

A sixty second timer that has ten second increments, so you can easily repeat grind doses.

Pulse Button

On the front of the machine there is a pulse button, to easily grind directly into your espresso portafilter.  This is a great feature for any operator, from the home user to the barista with a mastery of one hand operation.
