Description

Our Machristay Monsoon Malabar coffee beans, uniquely grown exclusively on the Malabar Coast of India, have a mellow, full-bodied character with a pleasant earthy aroma. The green bean is exposed to the monsoon winds for several months, and while the beans absorb the moisture they expand in size and take on a unique flavor. This process is even said to remove the acidity in the coffee.

The coffee is roasted to perfection daily at our facility, in our PID controlled Renegade coffee roaster. The best recommended brew temperature for this coffee is 205°F.

As described by a customer on Home-Barista:
"It's an excellent dark espresso. Made ten double this morning for our visitors, really delectable espresso! Definitely tastes better with a hotter (205) temperature, as the packaging suggests. Really brings out the chocolate and nutty flavors"

One of my favorites, nicely cured during the Indian monsoon season and perfectly roasted by Chris.Robust, smoothy and earthy like a nice Bordeaux. Always arrives quickly.

Earthy undercurrents with smooth finish. Not my favorite but others in the office did like it. Black Pearl still holds first place.

Espresso Bean May 26, 2016

Love, love, love this bean! Had used Dolce Tazza for a while and this was suggested by one of the reps at CC.  Nice crema through my Quick Mill Vetrano.  Friend was visiting from Italy and yearning for a "real" espresso, after tasting this, he said it brought a tear to his eye, as it brought him back to the homeland.

Machristay Monsoon Malabar Coffee March 20, 2016

I've tried a lot of different types of espresso, and this is my favorite. It has a smooth chocolate/nutty taste and an almost creamy feel in the mouth. It reminds me of the espressos I fell in with in Tuscany.

It takes me about 3 weeks to go through a pound of beans. Most other brands of beans start to taste stale towards the end of the cycle. Somehow these don't. The taste is consistently good.

(Shipping is a little more expensive here than other places. It'd be great if they can ship for a little less. But the beans are still great.)
