Almost a great machine March 25, 2016
Reviewer: Anthony Kosky from Berkeley, CA United States
I've been using this machine for over a year. Overall I've been happy, but there are a few flaws.

Unlike other Rocket machines the R58 has cheap feeling knobs that are hollow on the back side and rough edges. Why?

The remote control interface is poorly designed. The main use for this for is adjustments of the brew temperature. Yet the design forces me to step through all the other options before I can do so.

Also I wasn't able to get a really good micro-foam suitable for latte art with the standard steam tips. I switched to one of Chris' 0.9mm four-hole tips and found that works better.

Otherwise it is a good machine. It has been consistently turning out espresso shots as good as any I've ever had, with very little effort. The steaming is now very good. The build quality (aside from the knobs) is excellent, and so far it's been completely reliable.

Great machine, great service January 2, 2015
Reviewer: Jamie Shepherd from Louisville, KY United States
Earlier this year I purchased a Rocket r58. This is the third espresso machine I have purchased from Chris Coffee. The machine performs as good as it looks. I have pulled one of the best shots I ever had from this machine. I couldn't be happier with my experience.

Consistent and beautiful November 24, 2014

I am finding this to be by far the easiest, most consistent, espresso machine I have ever owned.  My journey started with the Silvia, then the Livia 90, then the Andreja Premium, and now the Rocket.  Compared to the Andreja (which I also love), the Rocket is much more "predictable."  My only real complaint is that the Rocket is clearly made to be plumbed in -- the drip tray and reservoir are too small, and there is no low-water warning (like there is with the Andreja) -- the Rocket simply shuts off.

A solid Value April 1, 2014
Reviewer: Thomas Hudson from reno, NV United States
I now have 3 months of use on my R58 as well as my K10 also from Chris.

Coming from a silvia with a mini mazzer, the rocket and K10 have been an amazing upgrade.  I know everyone loves whatever machine they personally have purchased, but even after 3 months of use this machine stands out and makes me smile every morning.  Dialing in my flavor profile took only a few tries, and now switching coffees is as simple as slightly changing my grind.  I get perfect shots, time after time.  Steaming is easy with this machine compared to my Silvia, and I believe the tip Chris included makes it that much better.  I don't consider myself a coffee geek, but I know manufacturing quality when I see it, and I know ease of use.  I am completely sold on this machine and its value for the price paid.

Rocket R58 V2 January 13, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Akron, OH United States
"I have been happily using the Rocket Espresso R58 daily which I purchased from Chris' Coffee seven months ago.  This is my third espresso machine in ten years.  I started with a Solis Crema SL70, then upgraded to a Rancilo Silvia v3, and have now settled on the Rocket R58.  Not only does this machine gleam on my countertop, it performs steadily giving me reliably excellent shots every time.  It's much easier to use than the Silvia, as there's no temperature surfing to get in the right range for steaming milk and pulling shots.   I use a combination of reverse osmosis water and filtered water for my reservoir, and back flush regularly.  The only downside to this machine is that descaling, when I eventually get around to it, will be a more complex program than I have been accustomed to.  I love this machine and highly recommend it!"
