The Italian La Spaziale Espresso Machine

Barista-worthy beverages can be made right in your kitchen with the S1 Vivaldi Professional Home Espresso machine. Its sleek, compact design sits just 15” high, making it easy to tuck away on your countertops, but it’s such an attractive appliance you may just want to make this best-seller a centerpiece.

Improvements of the New S1 Vivaldi Professional Home Espresso Machine

After a fairly successful first run, we helped La Spaziale redesign the model that ultimately became the S1 Vivaldi II. It received an extremely good reception, even taking home the CoffeeGeek Editor’s Choice Award for Best New Product in 2006. But we weren’t done making improvements. Below are the new and improved features you can expect to find with this state-of-the-art stainless steel espresso machine:

  • Programmable passive pre infusion from 1 to 8 seconds
  • Programmable off set differential
  • Dual Manometer
  • Optional 7 day timer
  • NEW 0.9 mm four hole steam tip is standard
  • More precise temperature accuracy
  • More reliable temperature sensing probe
  • New LED Display

We have worked directly with the manufacturer to create an exceptional stainless steel espresso maker. Our reps are available to answer any questions you might have so give us a call if you’d like to know more about this Italian La Spaziale Espresso Machine!

New Design Features - The top cover has been redesigned to eliminate the plexi cup guard. The new top is much more user friendly; the cup guard could easily break, leaving a gap around the edges. This also lowers the over height of the machine to just 15". The portafilters that come with the machine have also been redesigned. The machine comes standard with our famous 4 hole 0.9 mm steam tip.

The La Spaziale Vivaldi II single group, dual boiler espresso machine is no longer all that "new". After selling more than 500 of the original Vivaldi I machines, reading threads, and talking to our customers about their wish list, we sat down with La Spaziale and made improvements to the Original Vivaldi I and designed the Vivaldi II. We have been selling the Vivaldi II since the beginning of November 2006 and have now sold over 2,000 units. The Vivaldi II was awarded the Coffeegeek Editors Choice Award for Best New Product in 2006. Unlike the original Vivaldi I machine, that we did not have as much to do with its design, the changes to Vivaldi II are all ours. We though the Vivaldi II was perfect like it was.

Well in 2008 we decided there were a couple of things we could do to improve it even more. We added Programmable Offset Differential, Programmable Passive Pre-Infusion, and had a New optional steam tip with smaller 0.9 mm holes made.

Here is a list of improvements:

Programmable Passive Pre-Infusion: All machines shipped after June 26th of 2008 have the capability to program Passive Pre Infusion anywhere from 1 to 8 seconds. This is the same type of pre infusion used on some of the most expensive machines on the market. It differs from pre infusion on an E61 machine in so much as you control the time of the pre infusion as well as the amount of water you pre infuse with. You have no control of the pre infusion on an E61 Group. You can set this for what works best for you and your coffee. Once you set it where you like it, there is nothing you have to do except press the the button to start the brew cycle.

Programmable Off Set Differential: This allows you to set the LED temperature setting on the front of the machine to be equal to the temperature being delivered at the group rather than the temperature inside the group boiler. Note: We set it during the bench test of each machine prior to shipping so you don't have to invest in the expensive equipment necessary to perform the tests and setting.

Dual Manometer: It is no longer necessary to purchase a portafilter with a pressure gauge to either check or make adjustments to your pump's output pressure.

Now able to put on a timer: There is cord inside to plug in an OPTIONAL 7 day programmable timer into it. You can have the machine come on and go off at different times on different days.

The Vivaldi II Now comes equipped with the NEW 0.9 mm four hole steam tip as standard: This NEW 0.9 mm four hole steam tip on this machine is one of the easiest to produce excellent micro foam fast and easy even with small quantities of milk.

Decreased delta: What does that mean? The previous model would need to detect a temperature drop of one degree Celsius before the heater would be activated. The NEW Vivaldi II activates the heater with the detection of a temperature drop of just one half degree Celsius. Simply put, it makes the temperature accuracy that much more precise in the group boiler and enhances the steam boilers performance.

Updated temperature sensing probe: The new probe is actually submerged directly into the boilers. This probe has proven to be more reliable than the previous style and has a quicker reaction time.

New LED display: The previous display showed 5 degree increments, from 85 to 120 degrees Celsius. The NEW Vivaldi II displays in 1 degree increments, from 91 to 97 degrees Celsius.

91C = 195.8F
92C = 197.6F
93C = 199.4F
94C = 201.2F
95C = 203.0F
96C = 204.8F
97C = 206.6F

S1 VII is Terrific January 17, 2016
Reviewer: Bob & Crys Keiser from San Antonio, TX United States
We've been using our S1 VII since DC's "Snowmageddon" in February 2010 and it is still going strong. In fact, it may be the best purchase we've ever made. Considering that we've had it for about six years as we write this, the cost of the machine itself has been less than a dollar a day. Thanks, Chris!

6 months and we still love it December 9, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Carmel, CA United States
We purchased this to replace our previous machine and we are very happy.  Great function and worth going through the trouble of putting in plumbed line with in-line water filtration.  We leave ours with power on continuously so we don't have to worry about warm-up.  One word of caution here.  My daughter accidentally left it on over a 4 day weekend while we were away.  The drip tray was full to the point of overfill when we returned.  I called Chris's and was told that high line pressure can "bleed" a little water into the drip tray over time.  Bottom line is to turn off if you are away.  I opted not to buy the timer at the original purchase, but I may purchase in the future.
Very happy with the service at Chris Coffee and would buy again.

Lovin' it! December 9, 2014
Reviewer: John Thawley from Bonita Springs, Florida
I could not be happier.... the S1 Vivaldi II is everything I'd hoped it would be. I've spent years settling for other machines.... all good... but a compromise, nonetheless.

My Vivaldi is plumbed, filtered and operating at 20amps. It is spot on with consistency and runs like a top.

My purchasing experience was equally satisfying.

I've had one minor glitch... and I do mean minor. I got a little spec of something in one of the machine's water line connections. Five minutes on the phone with one of Chris' techs narrowed down the issue. A couple of iPhone photos later... and a little poke with a toothpick and I was back in espresso heaven.

Love my La Spaziale and Chris is my guy!!!!

only one regret April 2, 2014
Reviewer: Michael Kelly from sugar land, TX United States
My only regret is not making this investment sooner!

I used to own a small cafe a couple years ago.  I was spoiled with a large Bezzera that I sold  shortly after we closed due to the great recession.

I spent a year researching a machine that gave professional results but made sense for home.  After much research I kept coming back to the Vivaldi II....  Main reason aside from amazing espresso shots was the steamer performance.   This machine makes quality microfoam and my wife and I are Latte drinkers.

The machine is also very forgiving....  I was a little rusty when i got this machine and even when my tamp and grind were less than perfect it is hard for the average latte drinker to notice.

My wife and I love to entertain... this machine keeps up nicely even on 110 outlet.

Nothing beats waking up in the morning to the best drinks in town... No more waiting in line with the masses for over-priced fast food type junk.
