Latte luxury for the money July 27, 2014
Reviewer: Latte Lover from Midwest United States
I have been very impressed with my Quickmill Silvano since I purchased it a few months ago.  I make 2 Lattes (minimum) each day, and the Silvano does everything I need it to do, and looks fantastic to boot.

My previous experience includes a Saeco Vienna (less expensive) and an Expobar Office (more expensive).  The Expobar was better in steaming speed, but I do not mind the slower performance of the Silvano since it still makes excellent quality micro-froth with the stock single-hole steam tip.  One area where the Silvano performs better is during parties.  The simultaneous steam/brew capability combined with ENDLESS steam ensures I will be able to churn out 15-20 lattes without stopping.  This beats the Saeco hands down and even edges out the Expobar in this situation.  One area I would like to see improve is that the steam wand gets too hot and should be insulated.

Overall, I highly recommend the Silvano if you are looking for affordable latte luxury!

One year and going strong March 31, 2014
Reviewer: Jonathan Ard from Fort Rucker, AL United States
I've had this machine right at a year now and am still as enamored with it as the day I opened the box it shipped in. I use it about 4-5 times a week, 2 drinks at a time. I've made as many as six lattes in succession during dinner parties; however, I grind between each pull and rinse and dry my milk pitcher as well which affords a slight recovery time. That said, the first was as good as the sixth. Very impressive little machine. It's a pleasure to be able to say I believe the machine is worth its cost--it is built like a tank and exudes quality and workmanship. I just can't say enough good about it. Will I ever upgrade someday in the future? Maybe. Would it be necessary? Not at all! I could easily use this a lifetime and never need to step up. One thing is sure though: if I ever do move to another machine, I won't hesitate to buy a Quick Mill and I won't hesitate to use Chis' Coffee services. They have always been helpful, professional and a pleasure to do business with!

Very happy with my Silvano purchase March 16, 2014
Reviewer: Joshua Greenberg from Newton, MA United States
I am by no means a coffee-expert, so take this review with a grain of salt.  I am a beginner who likes good coffee and figured if I was only going to have one coffee before heading out the door in the AM, I wanted it to be a good one.

I like the aesthetics, it is easy to use, the customer service was generally good.  I have the machine on a timer so it heats up before I get up.  Within a week of playing around with dosing etc. I was able to produce a consistently excellent cappuccino.  The milk steaming was really no problem.  My only advice to Chris'/potential purchasers (if you are new to all this) would be to substitute a bottomless portafilter for the standard one (which I never use).

Solidly built, makes great coffee February 27, 2014
Reviewer: Stanley Miller from Gilbert, AZ United States
I've had my Silvano since 2010 (2014 now) and it has worked flawlessly, yesterday I had a small problem, easily solved with help from Chris' support folks.

For some reason my water flow was low from the brew group and the machine was showing 9 Bar even without the portafilter attached.

I called Chris' and Roger listened to my tale of woe. He gave me several things to try to see if they solved the problem, none very difficult or beyond the abilities of anyone that can use a crescent wrench and screwdriver. I spent about 10 minutes on the phone with him diagnosing the issue and making sure I understood exactly what to do. My unit is back in service with proper pressure and water flow with about a half hour of my time. Big difference from a couple hundred dollars shipping and a big repair charge which I'd have been facing without the assistance.

Bottom line for me, the Silvano by Quick Mill works well, is very durable and is amazingly repairable for an average person.

Quickmill Silvano Delivers January 21, 2014
Reviewer: Kelly Miller from Carlsbad, CA United States
I have had a Quickmill Vetrano for years and it has served me very well.  That said, a plumbed in machine does have a down side, the fail mode is to overfill and leak water.  (don't get me wrong- fast, quiet, powerful, beautiful- the Vetrano is spectacular).

What the Silvano has that tickled my fancy-
- smaller, fits under standard cabinets and takes up a smaller footprint.
- pour over has 2 big benefits over plumbed
-- if it fails it does not pour out water
-- easier to control the quality of water.
- my wife thinks it is more attractive
- side pull out reservoir is genius.
- Giant drip tray
- separate heating element for steam.

It is louder than the Vetrano, so that is one negative.

Oh, and it makes good espresso.
