Bottomless Portafilters
When I first read about "bottomless" or "crotchless" portafilters, I was quite skeptical. Curiosity got the best of me, and I had one made for me to try. I now must admit it is a heck of training tool. When using these bottomless portafilters, you will know immediately if channeling occurs, which results in poor shot quality.

The bottomless portafilters I choose to sell are of the highest quality possible. We start with Rancilio commercial portafilters for the E61 group machines. La Spaziale Commercial portafilters are the same ones that come with the Vivaldi. Pasquini was more difficult. Since the cost from Pasquini for their portafilters is outrageous, we were forced to find a good-quality substitute.

After deciding to sell these bottomless portafilters, and to only use high-quality portafilters to start with, the next part was the hardest -- finding a machinist who could modify them to the standards that I know my customers expect. In case you haven't noticed, I am pretty fussy. Dan Kehn introduced me to Lino Verna, espresso enthusiast and skilled machinist. • RANCILIO fits all Rancilio commercial machines and even Silvia, as well as all E61 group machines. Here is a list of some, but not all, of those E61 machines. Quick Mill Andreja, Andreja Premium, Anita, Vetrano, and Alexia. - Izzo Alex. and Alex Duetto -  Isomac Millenium, Tea, Rituale, Relax, Zaffiro, and Amica. - Expobar Office Control, Office Pulser, Office Lever, and Brewtus. - ECM Giotto, Giotto Cellini, Rocket, and Giotto Premium. - Grimac, and Grimac Valentina. Included with the portafilter is a La Marzocco Triple Insert Basket.
  
• LA SPAZIALE fits all commercial La Spaziale machines as well as the Vivaldi S1. Included with the portafilter is a Double La Spaziale Insert Basket.
  
• LA CIMBALI fits almost all Cimbali machines, from the Junior on up. Included with the portafilter is a La Marzocco Triple Insert Basket. Note: This does not fit the lever-action piston Cimbali.
  
• PASQUINI fits both models, the automatic and semiautomatic. Included with the portafilter is a La Marzocco Triple Insert Basket.
  
• NUOVA SIMONELLI fits their commercial machines such as Aurelia and Appia, as well as the Oscar. This is the highest quality bottomless portafilter we offer. We needed it for our commercial customers so we decided to offer it here as well. Also included is a Nuova Simonelli triple insert basket.
