This version of the La Marzocco GS/3 Espresso Machine uses an electronics package that allows for precise & repeatable shots that can be programmed by water volume. The GS/3 MP version gives you manual control over the pre-infusion and brewing times with a paddle valve control.

Think consistency when it comes to this GS/3 AV. It uses an electronically controlled espresso system, utilizing the same electronics package as the GB5 AV to actuate the pump and the groups solenoid valve to create the appropriate pressure to extract coffee. The electronic control is what actually enables the volumetric functions of the La Marzocco GS/3 Espresso Machine. Attached to the cold water side of the boiler is a small wheel (flow meter) that spins when water passes through. The AV is able to count and measure the precise amount of water that passes through the grouphead, and can be programmed by a user to dispense that same amount each time.

The AV also has a few more bits of functionality thanks to the electronics. 1st - the ability to program pre-infusion times into each button. The machine allows you to pre-infusion for 4 seconds, rest for 5 seconds, and then begin brewing. Whether plumbed in or not, pre-infusion is accomplished by quickly engaging the pump for 1-5 seconds (adjustable for each AV preset), then disengaging it for 1-5 seconds, then engaging the pump for brewing, which is able to replicate a smooth pre-infusion pressure cure." - La Marzocco Home

**New Cool Touch Steam Wand:

The cool touch steam wand has changed to improve both convenience and steaming power. It has been replaced from Teflon tubing to a double walled steel cool touch wand. This combines the performance of the Pro Steam wand with the convenience of the cool touch wand. With this change the Pro Steam wand option will no longer be an option on the GS3. This will also be standard on the GS3 AV model.

***The La Marzocco GS3 is highly customizable, allowing you to change out nearly everything, from the side panels to the portafilter to the group cap.

Warranty: We, Chris' Coffee, provide a 1 year parts warranty and labor under the review of our service department.

Warranty does not apply to normal wear and tear parts, or parts that fail due to mineral buildup. A water softener needs to be used on this machine if you live in an area with hard water.

**NOTE**: The o-rings and gaskets of the La Marzocco GS3 are NOT included under the warranty.

**You will need to call the trucking company to schedule a delivery day for your machine**
We ship your machine strapped to a small pallet and send it via common carrier (Ltl - Less than Truckload). This form of shipping is MUCH more expensive for us than UPS or FedEx, but we feel it is not only worth it but necessary. We have tried both UPS and FedEx and it simply isn't worth it; too many machines got damaged in the process of shipping. Simply Fabulous Machine May 7, 2016
Reviewer: Jason from Montclair, NJ United States
What is there to say that already hasn't been said?  The GS3 created a whole new class of seriously high-end, pro-sumer machines and this delivers.  Bottom line...if you cannot pull stunning shots from this you need look no further than your coffee choice or the mirror.  And, of course, Chris' customer service was first class throughout...

7 Month Review / Great Machine / Bad Shipping January 6, 2016
Reviewer: Mark H from Hillsboro, OR United States
My 7 year old Reneka Techno was an absolute dream but Reneka doesn't want to make home espresso machines anymore, so bye bye. In steps the GS3 with a WHAM. Somewhat too large for the counter, somewhat ugly, somewhat expensive...and I am pleased to the an owner. Shipping problems occurred when the DumbA.. shipper disassembled the GREAT Chris Coffee pallet assembly, for only God knows why.  Have had two small problems since then, maybe because of this folly.  But in steps Chris coffee/Tim, who shipped me three different parts to save the day.  I won't go into details. GS3 is what appears to be a full Commercial one group La Marzocco Strada.  They surely share some parts and clearly the same super solid construction.  I will later update this review to address RELIABILITY. By all measures, Rancilio Rocky should have been able to support the grinding of my beans, but not so much.  Hello Fiorenzato. Sorry Rocky, I will polish you occasionally.  Thanks Mary, in Online Sales

Experienced User August 19, 2015

I am using my fifth fully plumbed commercial machine and third coffee grinder. I ordered my first GS3 and grinder from Chris Coffee. We found that no matter how nice the  machine is, the coffee quality is as important. Trips to Jamaica and Hawaii, brought back famous coffee beans, We tried several different brands before we bought Chris Coffee's Black Pearl. I found that this coffee gives the best quality shot out of the GS3 of all the coffee tried. On the  La Marzocco GS3, I owned the Paddle at first and liked it, but the 6 to 8 month replacement of the paddle seals was a job that I disliked so this year I moved to the new Volumetric GS3, from Chris Coffee. Using a Compak F10 Conic OD Fresh grinder, also from Chris, the espresso consistency is the best I have ever experienced. Grinding 16.5 to 17 Kg of ground Black Pearl, the GS3 delivers 2 ounces of espresso in 23 to 27 seconds regularly.
N Freeman,

Happy customer December 9, 2014
Reviewer: Robert Smith from Berkeley, CA United States
I just counted - I have owned 8 espresso machines, taking a very expensive route to finally purchase the expensive GS3.  In hindsight, I wonder what I was thinking - it's been a very expensive education.  But, money aside, I'm VERY happy.  The last upgrade was from the Vivaldi II - made because one of my daughters was getting married, and invited the 150 guests for morning coffees for one week.  It was the capacity limitation of the Vivaldi which caused this last upgrade.  And now that I had the GS3 (in our vacation home), my wife bought me a second one for our regular home.  Lucky guy.
I go to bed at night, anticipating the morning coffee - I'm obsessed, and very happy.  And by the way, Chris' Coffee has been a pleasure to deal with - I have had experience with lots of competition, and these guys are the best of the lot.

Love the machine; had to replace pump in 6 months December 9, 2014
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from San Jose, CA United States
I've had multiple machines for over 20 years starting with the basic single vibration pump, finally working up to the La Marzocco GS3.
First minor problem was that the shipper must have dropped the pallet as the machine had broken off one of the rubber feet.  Chris' sent out a replacement and I was good to go.
Second problem just surfaced last month - the pump was sticking - Chris was able to find a local dealer who came to my house and replaced the pump under warrantee.
Make sure you get a grinder that's worthy of this machine - I purchased a Forte Baratza.  Both machines fit under a standard kitchen cabinet (my prior grinder was a bit too tall).
The GS3 is sensitive to the grind size - it will take some experimentation to get your perfect 30 second draw.
