Very happy with Silvano Evo September 13, 2016
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Austin, TX United States
Before this machine, I had a Quick Mill Anita. I was pleased with that one, so I didn't hesitate to be a returning Quick Mill customer.

Compared to an HX machine, precise temperature control is direct and very easy with Silvano. You will notice different flavors in the cup as you vary the PID setting.

This machine has a lot of nice design features. I really like the side access water reservoir and how easy it is to quickly glance at the water level. The built in shot timer is such a simple idea, but it really helps! Warm up time on the machine is also much faster than my Anita (and I suspect any E61 machine).

The steam is also more than enough for the occasional cap, though obviously not as powerful as larger machines.

This machine really hits a sweet spot and is a great value. It produces excellent espresso with very little effort. Given the way I use the machine, it is perfect. I also considered the Vetrano 2B, but it had more features than I truly required.

I have a Mk1 variant 4 years now June 25, 2016

and am still very happy with it.  You might think no E61 group, steam plate... while I have never owned an E61, I cannot make myself part with this machine in favor of a "better" one.  We steam mainly when we entertain, a few times a year.  We are espresso and americano drinkers.  Not having a boiler full of stale water is a good thing, and the steam power is plenty when properly preparing drinks, - one drink per milk pitcher.  Maintenance-wise, the thing has been stone reliable. I descale with citric acid from a brew supply store.  Clean/backflush every week or two.    With our americano habit water on the machine would be nice, though we make short ones so you can just run water thru the group without the portafilter.  To say you can't go wrong with this machine is an understatement.  Put good money in a grinder too though - arguably more important than the machine.  We did notice an improvement in flavor when we went to the Mazzer Mini electronic w the big burrs, from Chris too.

Awesome so far!!! February 24, 2016
Reviewer: Tyson Hockstaff from Chesapeake, VA United States
Great little machine, that was very easy to dial in.  PSI was accurate and right at 9.5, and after pulling my first couple shots I noticed that there was slight bitterness so I dialed down the temp on the PID to 202.  The only issue is the built in shot timer is not functioning on the PID, which is frustrating since the machine was checked for functionality prior to being shipped.  If anyone can chime in on this that would be great.

Fantastic Machine January 7, 2016
Reviewer: Paul W from Boston, MA United States
I couldn't be happier with this machine. In my experience Silvano has more than adequate steam capacity, which is something I was concerned about after reading some reviews on coffeegeek. I love the PID, the side reservoir makes refilling a piece of cake, the drip tray is large, it's solidly built, it looks nice, and the price was definitely right. Great communications and advice from Chris Coffee before I purchased. No regrets whatsoever.

Great machine! September 11, 2015
Reviewer: Joseph Miller from Santa Cruz, CA United States
Having owned about 10 different espresso machines over the years, this is unquestionably the best. The learning curve was very short, and I quickly became able to pull shots that equaled or surpassed those of experienced baristas using large professional machines. I have found a PID is crucial, and this one works perfectly. The machine is quite forgiving as well. I live in an area were there are many roasters and "high-end" coffee shops, and the shots I make at home now surpass them all. Buying it was a pleasure.
