I made the right choice! June 2, 2017
Reviewer: Denise Johnson from Woodstock, GA United States
I recently bought an espresso machine but was not achieving great results.  I sent an email to Chris' Coffee.  MacKenzie was very helpful.  She told me that perhaps I was having issues because I needed a different coffee grinder.  I did not research and found the grinder I wanted.  I still had questions and MacKenzie was so gracious and answered my questions.  It took a pound of coffee to get my perfect grind dialed in, but it has been smooth sailing since then with this grinder.

Perfect home grinder March 16, 2017
Reviewer: Paul D from WV United States
I have previously owned a Rancillo Rocky and a Cimabali Junior.  Both were highly regarded pro quality units but had shortcomings that made them undesirable.   I have used the Vario now for two months.
I was nervous about moving to what appeared to the Vario because it looked sort of cheap  on the website.  However, when I received it I was impressed by the build quality.  It seems like it is built for the long haul.  The hopper holds about 1/2 pound of coffee yet the unit sits easily on the counter below the top cabinets.  It is super easy to change the grind from espresso to French press and any grind in between.
I thought the timer would be gimmicky but if I use the same beans i get exactly the same amount by weight each time I use it.
And the unit is quiet, not messy, and easy to clean.
I love this grinder, and I hope it is as durable as it seems.  I wouldn't even consider a more expensive commercial unit unless I ran a large shop.

Grinder works really well. January 29, 2017

It may not be professional grade, but it is certainly high end consumer. Heavy, nice controls. The timer is really handy. If you change beans, expect to have to dial-in the grind settings and time for each variety.

Vario Grinder December 12, 2016
Reviewer: John Faison from Annapolis , MD United States
I had had previous experience with my son's Vario Grinder, but sons move out (and take their grinders with them). I looked at several other grinders, but it seemed clear that the Vario was the best combination of build quality, flexibility and affordability. I am very happy with the machine. Chris'Coffee advice and delivery service were top notch!

Great for espresso! March 22, 2015
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from San Francisco, CA United States
I needed a grinder that could mill coffee to the fineness needed for a Pavoni lever espresso machine.  The Pavoni requires a precise matching of grind and packing, and the tolerances are narrow. I was concerned by the unconventional design of Vario, but the small footprint was appealing, and the knowledgable technical support at Chris' convinced me that it was worth a try.  I've only had the Vario for 48 hours, but so far, the performance has been spectacular.  There is something different about the grind produced by the Vario, as compared with my previous conical burr machine, such that the quality of the crema and taste is superior.  I also like some of the convenience features (timer, basket) that set it apart for a purely manual machine.  It's also good to know that I can change between grinds on those rare occasions that I make drip coffee.   I recommend this grinder highly, especially if counter space is limited.
