The new Vesuvius-SST that is in production now will have all new stainless steel tubing. The last shipment introduced the stainless steel tubing. They are no longer using fittings and elbows to make the bend, but are now having them professionally produced for the Vesuvius. This will allow for beautifully polished, perfect bends of the tubing and the assembly of the machines is much faster! The water level sensor has also been upgraded.

Letter from the Owner of M&V

"For 3 generations we have designed and manufactured equipment for Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering Business sector.

My grandfather, Umberto Cortese, started the company in the early 50's by repairing and selling coffee machines, with the cooperation of his 3 sons; Letterio, Salvatore and Guiseppe. In 1962 after years of research and development the first ice beverage machine was realized, revolutionizing the production of slush in the world. A hot chocolate copper machine was added to the range of machine products.

Our research and developing equipment work brought in 1983 to a change in the slush world market: the first horizontal developing slush. The new method permitted to reach the best slushes production in half the time. A system adopted by all manufactures until today.

In a multifaceted and evolving market, we went back to the basics by introducing in our production a series of models of coffee machines with unique features in terms of technology and design, pressure profiling, dual boiler lever machine and more.

Everything we produce is made in Italy, and the components used are the result of ongoing research and selection of the best that the European scene can offer.

In memory of my father,
Paolo Cortese
*******************************

The Vesuvius by M&V is one of the world's first prosumer, computer-controlled espresso machine with an E61 group. It delivers true pressure profiling via its FG304 gear pump and speed-controllable motor. The Vesuvius is operated completely through its PID touch pad display, which informs you of the current temperatures of the boilers, the pressure, and if you are running it off the tank, the amount of water left. These machines all come inside a wooden crate and are bolted to the base of the crate. We then strap the crate to a pallet to ship them.

The Vesuvius has a unique placement for its water tank; instead of being accessed from the top of the machine, usually located right under the cup warming tray, this machine has the tank hidden behind the left side panel, which can be accessed by opening up a simple latch and tilting to the left. No need to constantly remove and stack up your cups every single time you need to add water to the reservoir. The main power switch is also located here.

We ship this machine strapped to a small pallet and send it via common carrier fully insured. This form of shipping is MUCH more expensive for us than UPS or FedEx, but we feel it is not only worth it but necessary. We have tried both UPS and FedEx and it simply isn't worth it; too many machines got damaged in the process of shipping. The last thing you would want is to place an order for a beautiful machine, only to have it arrive damaged.

Vesuvius April 22, 2017
Reviewer: WJ from NH
2 months into pressure profiling and still a novice. One thing is clear, my shots are Fuller, rounder, more balanced and much sweeter. My wife has been adding sugar to her capacinno for 20 years. No more! As always, Chris and family are the most knowledgeable, helpful, honest and fun to deal with. Look nowhere else.

Great Machine Great Service April 7, 2017
Reviewer: Edward Jones from College Station, TX United States
Purchased the Vesuvius about 2 months ago.  The delivery service and support were fantastic.   Not a scratch.
If you are anxious to draw and taste your first cup, simply program one phase at 9bar and 40+sec.  This emulates other "non-programmable" machines.  You just shut the lever when the draw is finished stopping the draw  before the timer runs down.   From there you can start experimenting with grinds, times and pressures.

Oh.. one negative.. The reservoir is hardwired to the water level sensor.  My advice... DO NOT try to remove the reservoir to fill it.  You may damage the sensor connections!  Instead, carefully pour water into the reservoir.  You have to open the left side panel, tilt the plastic reservoir out, partially remove the top, pour in about a liter of water, then tuck the sensors back as well as the electric wires.  There is nothing in the manual about this, but it takes some practice to do this without spilling water and without damaging the machine.

The best machine. PERIOD January 7, 2017
Reviewer: fred from Florida, United States
I have owned a number of high end machines.(La Cimbali, La Marzocco G3, ECM, and a few others)
The Vesuvius is the best, end of story.
A little intimidating at first with so many features but a little playtime and you will love it.The only criticism is that the owners manual could be a bit more informative. Beautifully packaged with all the spare parts you will need for a long while. On looks it is 10/10

Can't review this machine highly enough August 22, 2016
Reviewer: Tony Nichols from Birmingham, AL United States
I am in love with my new Vesuvius!!  I upgraded from a Andreja Premium that I had had for 9 years.  I sent that unit back to be refurbished and then sent to my daughter for her use.

The Vesuvius is so quite and consistently pulls the same perfect shot every time.  I am beginning to master a little latte art slowly and can now impress my friends at frequent parties!!

Changing "Bucket List" Paradigm? February 20, 2015
Reviewer: Michael McGinness from Vancouver, WA United States
2013 upgraded to QM V2B. Reviewed V2B 2014 said would be my last home machine until got my bucket list machine likely a Speedster or Slayer.

V2B shots did well compared to PID Linea at my Roastery. Summer 2014 replaced 4 group Linea with 3 group Cyncra. Started playing with line pressure shot profiling. Could get shots I couldn't before. Liked better. Couldn't get with V2B!

Saw web talk about new Vesuvius. Nice price for a pressure profile capable machine! 12 months after getting the V2B got a Vesuvius.

Only been 2 months but must say the Vesuvius is very profile capable. VERY. No regrets. Typed with the wonderful linger of a light roast WP Yirg' dancing on my palate. Pulled 201f 10 seconds 2 bar, 5s7b, 5s12b, 20s9b ~18g dose ~34g yield. Smooth, creamy, sweet wow all Yirg' shot no harshness. I have better shot capabilities with the Vesuvius at home than my Cyncra at the Roastery, that's saying something and then some.

Con: Vesuvius programmed profiles only.
